Other Tools
Run burgundy half-sheet through the Cuttlebug using the Divine Swirls design at the top of the card surface.
Then run the half-sheet through again, this time with the Mesh design at the bottom. Set aside.
On white cardstock, use the leafy blockprint stamp and Memories Soft Leaf ink to create texture.
Stamp first impression, then re-ink and turn stamp before stamping second tile (as if you were putting down ceramic tiles). Continue until the entire piece of paper is covered with tiles. Note: Memories Dye ink differs from Versacolor pigment ink in that the ink pad will dry out sooner. Don’t forget to put the lid on when you’re not using it!
Next, use pale yellow chalk around the edge only—to create color variation.
Stamp the Leaf Sprig in Bamboo ink. This stamp is wonderful tool for setting up your wreath. Because it is multi-directional, it makes a really great background stamp AND placement tool for the stamps to come! (You may find that, with these slightly larger stamps--larger than our peg stamps-- you ink up the stamp differently. Hold the stamp upside down in one hand and use the ink cube to ink the stamp).
Second impressions are important, too! If you stamp a second time before re-inking, you get a lovely illusion of depth, like you would see in nature.
As always, a North – South – East- West method works well for setting up your wreath.
Continue stamping with the Leaf Sprig until the base of your wreath is finished. You may go in later and apply more Leaf Sprigs, if needed.
Stamp the Holly Leaf in Evergreen.
Now clean the stamp and go back around with the Holly Leaf again, this time using Bamboo ink.
Add more Holly Leaf stamps as needed.
Stamp the
Last, stamp the Berry Sprig in Umber (in the corners of the card).
Make sure your inks are dry and then take the black scalloped circle and place it in the center of the wreath. If you like, use the Leaf Sprig and Holly Leaf stamps to fluff up the wreath, which I have chosen to do for this wreath.
I have added just a little more Holly Leaf in Evergreen ink and now I will add a few more Leaf Sprigs in Bamboo ink. Now when I place the black scalloped circle over the wreath, I like what I see.
Now glue black inverted scallop circle onto center of wreath.
Tie black ribbon and burgundy embroidery thread around the card about .75-inch from the bottom.
Glue to dark olive scalloped cut-out.
Embellish scallops of dark olive cut-out with
Stamp Berry Blockprint stamp, using Soft Leaf ink, onto white paper.
Stamp Merry Christmas in
Center “Merry Christmas” in the 1” scalloped circle punch and punch it out.
Mount with pop-it tape onto black inverted scallop disk.
Use Leafy Blockprint and Soft Leaf ink on a piece of white card stock.
Stamp friend stamp in Bark ink on top of background.
Line up friend stamp in medium square punch so that the square forms a diamond shape in relation to the Friend stamp. Punch out square.
Last, glue everything you’ve put together onto burgundy cardbase and voila! You're finished.

What a great card!! And wouldn't it be a great companion card with the last one? Who wouldn't love to receive a set of these cards as an early Christmas present? The inverted scallop really lends a nice touch to this card. Keep up the great work and inspiration for your followers.

I don't use mine enough, but this one gives me some
incentive to start using them more often. Thanks!

I find it totally amazing looking at the tutorial how good that block print background looks after you finish the card. I normally would try to not get spaces between the block prints and start over if I did. You clearly show that you don't need to worry about that. YES!

Beautiful card! I love the layers and added texture with the embossing folders too. Very pretty! And I am impressed with how easy the block prints make the background look so elegant. Thanks for sharing your tutorials!

This has so much depth to it with the background. The pearls are a nice touch, too, and I also like that it was a little different from the usual red and green and was a little more burgundy and hunter.
