Instructions
Pinecone and Umber inks are great for weathering or edging papers and are staples in our color palette. For this card, however, where the tones are a bit more reddish, Bark works better to subtly bring out the tones of some of the other ink colors. Now for the project...
Start stamping the fruit border about 1-3/4 inches from the left edge of the paper, using the following stamps and inks:
Stamp Mini Apple/Peach in Burgundy.
Stamp Mini Grapes in Grape ink.
Stamp Mini Pear in Paprika.
Stamp Mini Grape Leaf in Green Tea.
Stamp Tiny Fruit Leaf in Bamboo.
Stamp Tiny Poplar Leaf in Split Pea
Stamp Mini Twisted Sprig in Bark. Set this paper aside.
Emboss the green cardbase with the Cuttlebugs A2 "Birds and Swirls" embossing envelope.
With the newly embossed green cardstock on a flat surface, scuff the raised areas with Bamboo ink. Set aside.
Run the Burgundy cardstock through the Cuttlebug using the same embossing envelope. Trim off a strip measuring just a tad bigger than half an inch wide (here I've used 9/16-inch wide). Repeat this step with the Dark Burgundy designer paper and this time, trim off a strip measuring 3/16-inch wide (or round it to a fourth-inch, if that's easier).
Glue these two strips on top of the card front. It is quite okay to cover up some of the stamping.
Using the rectangular die-cut template, cut a hole in the cardfront. The die-cut template I used here measures 1-7/8 x 2-3/8 inches. Now edge the inside of the hole and the outer edges of the paper with Bark ink.
Using Pinecone ink, stamp "Happy Autumn" on a strip of pink designer paper measuring about 9/16 by 2-1/4 inches. It doesn't have to be exact. Now edge the strip using Bark ink.
Glue the Happy Autumn strip behind the cardfront to where it bubbles outward. Now glue this ensemble to the green cardbase you finished earlier.
Locate your small piece of Warm Green designer paper and run it through the rectangular die-cut template. The one used here measures 1-3/8 x 1-3/4 inches. Lay the piece of paper flat and scuff the raised areas and the edges with Bark ink. Set aside.
On an off-white scrap of cardstock, stamp some Grapes and Grape Leaves. Here I used Grape and Burgundy inks on the top row and Green Tea on the bottom.
Cut out the images you just stamped and edge them with Bark ink.
Arrange your cut-outs on the Warm Green rectangle you worked on earlier and glue down. I'm using Tombow MonoMulti glue, which is the best glue I've found for doing paper crafts. It also smells good, an added bonus!
Now glue the fruit-embellished rectangle onto the cardfront.
Once you've punched holes in the sentiment strip and "sewed" using pink cord, you're all done!

This card is so pretty using the fall colors. I really like the group of fall leaves and touching the edges with the color which makes the leaves pop. Another wonderful creation from Susan. Thanks for the inspiration.

I wouldn't have considered pink a fall color, but it sure looks good in your example. Absolutely love that fruit border.

Great card and I should use the border idea more often. This could easily be employed with one layer cards as well and on a smaller scale to give smaller cards an artsy feel. LOVE that stamp set as well.

This makes for such a pretty autumn card. I like the fruit stamps, which one doesn't normally associate with fall. The colors set off the design perfectly.
