For those of us who don't always get to cultivate our own gardens (or have neighbors who garden), there is still hope! There is always nature's bounty for us to enjoy. Wildflowers, in a perfection of disarray, always seem to know what rock or old building to grow around. A wildflower is nature's special surprise...

Instructions -
Start with the the centerpiece of the card, the sentiment and stamped area:
Use the "Dear Friend" and "Thanks so much" stamps (using Neptune ink) in the center of a White card stock scrap. Line the sentiment up in the scalloped rectangle die and cut out. Then stamp the following stamps and inks:
Mini Pointed Cluster Flower in Peony
Mini Ivy Vine in Split Pea
Tiny Daisy Clusterette in Peony
Mini Dried Seed Head in Bamboo
Use the Pink Chalk to colorize the outer scallops and the Sage Chalk to colorize inside the wreath area.
Edge with the Gold Paint Pen and set aside briefly. Run the Dark Rose card stock through the die cut machine using the next larger scalloped rectangle die. Then glue the Dark Rose piece to the back of the scalloped rectangle you stamped. Garnish the centers of some of the flowers with glitter glue and set aside for now.
Make your own designer paper:
Sometimes we have an idea in mind for that perfect paper for a project--but we can't find it anywhere. My solution was to make my own "designer" paper, using the stamps from the Waving Wildflowers set and some chalks and inks. If you start with a size of paper larger than you actually need, you
can crop the paper later, selecting the best portion for your
card-front.
Take the Light Green card stock and make random swirly marks using the VersaMark pen. Use the Light Mauve, Sage, and Butterscotch Chalks to randomly colorize the paper. Be careful to leave some less-chalked areas so you have variation of color. Then use the stamps (or portions of the stamps) to make a pattern on the paper. Here's the stamping recipe:
Tiny Daisy in Peony (ink only a small portion of this stamp)
Tiny Daisy Clusterette in Sage, using the entire stamp this time
(the image will show up better when you add some chalk)
Mini Ivy Vine in Green Tea
Once you have stamped your designer paper, add more Chalk or Olive ink as needed. (I even chalked and inked a bit more after I glued down the Rose paper, which is coming up in the next few steps). Cut the paper to half-sheet size and then fold it. Set aside for now.
Then cut a triangular shape from the Rose paper. Edge it with the Gold Paint Pen and then glue it to the card-base. At this point, I edged the right edge of the Rose Paper and the right edge of the card-base with the Gold Paint Pen.
Make Floral Embellishment -
On a Light Green card stock scrap, stamp the Mini Ivy Vine in Green Tea. Next, stamp a Mini Pointed Cluster Flower in Peony ink on White card stock. Repeat with Green Tea ink.
Cut out into a free-form leaf shape. Glue to the Dark Green card stock scrap and trim away the excess, leaving a thin border of Dark Green. Repeat for a second "leaf." Color in some of the Flowers using the Yellow Colored Pencil. Cut out the Flowers and assemble the flowers and leaves you just made. Use PopIt! tape to fasten the embellishment to the card.
Add a little glitter glue to the embellishment, tie the ribbon, and you're done!

Fun new ideas to try! I need the reminder that we can use colored pencils to add some color or detail to what we stamp in color not just to color in an image. lovely colors and shapes. Thanks for another wonderful card and tutorial.
