Friends are like flowers; some friendships form as quickly and easily as buttercups appear, while others grow with care, like a rose. Whether they are spontaneous or take more tender loving care, each friendship is a blessing in its own right.
Stamps -
Floral Filigree stamp set
"Your friendship is a blessing" block stamp
Papers - White card stock - 5.5 x 11, folded square
White card stock - 4.5 inches square
Spring Green card stock - 4-5/8 x 4-5/8 inches
White card stock scrap
Dark Green card stock scrap
Inks - Hyacinth, Heliotrope, Boysenberry, Grape, Neptune, Charcoal, Green Tea, Sage, Peony, Evergreen; Archival Black
Tools and Accessories -
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders - "Textile Textures" and "D'Vine Swirls "
Chalk - Lavender
Colored Pencil - Yellow, Pink, Light Green, Medium Green
Embellishments -
Wide transparent ribbon
Green polka dotted ribbon
INSTRUCTIONS -
Run the White paper through the embossing folders, "Textile Textures" at the top and "D'Vine Swirls" at the bottom. Smudge the edges and portions of the embossed areas with Sage ink. Set aside for now.
Take the square White card stock piece and stamp around the border, using the following stamps and inks:
Shasta Daisy in Heliotrope ink
African Daisy in Boysenberry ink
and
Peruvian Lily in Neptune ink
Forget-me-nots in Grape ink
Trailer Solid in Green Tea ink
Opposite Vine Open in Archival Black ink
Stamp the Leaves and Swirl in Sage ink and then use the Chalk to colorize the edges of the paper. The chalk will alter the look of the Sage ink you just put down.
Once you have finished stamping, color some of the Peruvian Lilies with the Yellow and Pink Colored Pencils.
MAKE SENTIMENT MEDALLION
Stamp the sentiment in Archival Black ink on the scrap of White card stock and then stamp some florals around it.
Stamp the Shasta Daisies in Peony ink.
Follow with African Daisies in Evergreen ink.
Stamp the Opposite Vine Open in Green Tea.
Then stamp the Peruvian Lily in Archival Black ink and use the Yellow and Pink colored pencils to color them in.
Cut out the wreath and then back it with Dark Green card stock. Next, attach eyelets and run the Green Ribbon through the eyelets, tying knots at the eyelet ends. Set aside for a moment.
Then attach the wide ribbon across the middle of the stamped square panel of the card. Attach the medallion to the card by wrapping the thin ribbon behind the card.
Glue the ensemble to the White card base and you're almost done.
The last step is to add some pop-up flowers. On a White scrap of card stock, stamp the following:
Shasta Daisies in Peony ink
Peruvian Lilies in Archival Black ink.
Then cut the flowers out and use PopIt! Shapes to fasten them to various places on the card including the medallion.
