Stamps -
Pretty in Pink stamp set
“Happy Day” block stamp
“Dear Friend” block stamp
Papers -
Yellow card stock half-sheet, folded
White card stock - 3-3/4 x 5 inches
White card stock - 3-11/16 inches x
4-7/8 inches
White Card stock scraps
Inks -
Versacolor Narcissus, Peony, Orchid,
Split Pea, Green Tea, Bamboo, Pinecone, Bark, Evergreen
Other Tools and Accessories -
Cuttlebug embossing folders – “D'Vine
Swirls” and “Swiss Dots”
Chalk – Butterscotch
Chalk Puff
Gold Paint Pen
Pink Ribbon
PopIt! Shapes mounting tape – (I used
Square)
Instructions -
Run the Yellow card stock half-sheet through the “D'Vine Swirls” embossing folder. Scuff some of the raised areas with the Narcissus ink. Then run the White card stock piece measuring 3.75 x 5 inches through the “Swiss Dots” embossing folder. Set both pieces aside for now.
Take the White card stock measuring 3-11/16 inches x 4-7/8 inches and stamp a wreath in the center using the following stamps and inks:
Stamp the Flowers in Orchid.
Stamp the Flowers a second time in Bamboo ink.
Stamp the Flowers a third time, this time in Evergreen.
Stamp the Leaves in Green Tea ink.
Stamp the Sprig in Pinecone ink.
Now stamp the other parts of the paper.
Stamp the Flower in Split Pea ink.
Use the Chalk to colorize random areas of the "background."
Then stamp the Leaves in Bamboo ink.
Then stamp the Sprig in Green Tea.
Stamp the Sprig again, this time in Orchid.
Edge the outer perimeter of the panel with the Gold Paint Pen.
Outline the perimeter of the Wreath with the Gold Paint Pen.
Use the Gold line as a cutting guide and cut the wreath out. I discovered that I needed to trim a bit more away from the "background" area in order to get a bigger gap between the wreath and the background. After trimming some more, I used the Gold Paint Pen to edge the panel where I had just trimmed.
Assemble the pieces -
Glue the stamped main panel (it has a
hole cut in it) to the White panel you embossed earlier with the
“Swiss Dots” embossing folder. Tie a ribbon around the resulting
piece and glue it to the card base. Then glue the cut-out wreath to the
“hole” area of the card base, on top of the “Swiss-Dots”-embossed
White paper. Set aside for now.
Make Floral Embellishments -
Taking the White scraps, stamp the following stamps and inks:
Flower Clusters in Orchid
Flowers in Peony
Leaves in Bark
Leaves in Green
Tea
Then cut all these out and use PopIt! Shapes mounting tape to attach them to the the card base, on top of the stamped flowers and greenery (or "brownery"). Set the card aside for now.
Make Medallions -
On Scrap White paper, stamp the “Happy Spring!” and “Dear Friend” sentiments in Peony ink. Line up the sentiments in the square punch and punch out.
Use the
Flower stamp in Orchid ink around the stamped sentiments. Use the
Paint Pen to edge the "Dear Friend" sentiment and mount it with the
PopIt! Tape to
the card base.
Then glue the "happy day!" sentiment to a scrap of Pea Green card stock, edge the Pea Green paper with the Gold Paint Pen and mount it to the card base and you're done!
If you want to, you can use a little glitter glue to add some sparkle to the card.

Pretty in Pink would be awesome for that special breast cancer survivor! Great job! How about making some of your flowers into punches?

This is a really good mix of colors and I am going downstairs to check and see if I have all of them or not. I think I may have to add a couple to my COLLECTION. After all you know what they say in the stamping world; "She who dies with the most stuff wins"! It is an addiction and if I have to have one it's a great one to have.
Thanks for my fix! Love it every week!

Pinks and greens look great!
I like how you outlines the wreath and used it for a cutting guide. I was trying to figure out which die you used to cut that shape, but you didn't use a die! Very creative!

This is just gorgeous, I love the idea of using the "random" outline as the cutting line - brilliant. - I know I am going to sound like a broken record (if any of us remember what they are )- please think about publishing a book with these samples. The instructions and photographs are so comprehensive and inspiring.

What inspiration to use the center stamped wreath and background to create your cutout layers. The "random" shape makes a more casual effect than the nested die cuts.
Fabulous as always. Thanks.

What a lovely design! The 3D elements look wonderful, and the colour scheme is just gorgeous. I do like the way you have cut out the wreath, and the gold edging makes it stand out beautifully.

If you weren't having a "Happy Day" that card would certainly do the trick.
