Other Supplies and Embellishments -
Sharpie Marker
Cuttlebug embossing folder - "Birds and Swirls"
Adhesive Pearls - Copper
Instructions -
Write out the Recipe inside the card. Because we intend to actually use this card, you will want to use a permanent marker. I used a Sharpie.
I usually stamp first and then write but this time, because there is so much writing to do and I'm more likely to make a mistake, I decided to write first. I discovered that by folding the card before writing, I could use the wings as outlines for the directions, saving the center of the card for the ingredients list. If you want to avoid the issues of stamping over the creases, you might mark the folds with a light pencil instead of folding at this time.
Stamp the inside of the recipe card using the following:
Stamp the large flower in Topaz ink.
Then stamp the Flower Cluster in Old Rose ink.
Next, stamp the Leaf in Bamboo ink.
Then edge all the outside borders with Narcissus ink.
This is what it looks like inside...
Now for the outside of the card...
Start by generously edging the folded card with Narcissus ink. This image shows just the beginning stage of the yellow edging.
Then stamp the following around the outer border, in about a one-inch swath:
Stamp the Large Flower in Narcissus ink.
Stamp the Flower Cluster in Neptune ink.
Stamp the Sprig in Topaz ink. Set aside for now.
Next, run the Goldenrod piece of paper through the embossing folder and then edge it with Umber ink. Set aside for now.
Centerpiece
On a White scrap, stamp the sentiment, "Homemade Goodies" in Bark ink and, using scissors, trim the paper. Then use the Large Flower and Narcissus ink to make a background (even though we are doing this backwards, the light colored ink will be pale enough that it won't disturb the sentiment). Edge with Umber ink and then edge with the Gold Paint Pen. Glue to a piece of Brown paper and trim away the excess. Set aside for now.
Detail of the centerpiece.
Stamp an assortment of Large Flowers and Leaves on a piece of White paper and cut out. In this sample, I cut out seven leaves in Bark ink, four Large Flowers in Narcissus ink, two Large Flowers in Neptune ink, and one Large Flower in Topaz ink. Then arrange with the medallion on the Goldenrod panel you embossed earlier and glue the resulting centerpiece to the front of the recipe card (you'll glue only the left side of the centerpiece) so that the card will open.
Add the Adhesive Pearls, tie that ribbon and you're done!
FRESH PEACH DESSERT
Ingredients
- 16 whole graham crackers, crushed
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 4 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 6 large fresh peaches - peeled, pitted and sliced
Directions
- Combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 1/2 cup sugar in a mixing bowl. Mix until evenly moistened, reserve 1/4 cup of the mixture for the topping. Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Heat marshmallows and milk in a large saucepan over low heat and stir until the marshmallows are completely melted. Remove from heat and cool.
- Whip cream in a large bowl until soft peaks form. Beat in 1/3 cup sugar until the cream forms stiff peaks. Fold the whipped cream into the cooled marshmallow mixture.
- Spread 1/2 the cream mixture over the crust, arrange the peaches on top of the cream, then spread the remaining cream mixture over the peaches. Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture over the cream. Refrigerate until serving.

I collect cookbooks and stamps...how did you know? I can't wait for your other recipes and card ideas. However, I would prefer to not have to open the card each time to use the recipe. How about a decorated recipe card inside the matching greeting card that I can put in the special recipe card box that you will eventually design? Anyone else receiving this gift can also just put them in their own recipe box. I'm ready to collect!
