Dandelions are magical. One of my fondest childhood recollections is running around the yard barefoot with my two sisters and our brother, blowing dandelion kisses in the wind. I'd like to introduce our latest stamp set, Dandelion Flurry, inspired by memory and childhood.
Dandelion Flurry stamp set
"I love you" sentiment block stamp
Papers -
Yellow card stock half-sheet, folded
Rust card stock
White card stock
White card stock scraps
Purple card stock
Inks - Versacolor Topaz, Split Pea, Bark, Green Tea, Paprika, and Pinecone; Encore Metallic Gold
Tools and Embellishments -
Cuttlebug embossing folder - "Textile Textures"
Gold Paint Pen
Medium Punch - Square
Ribbons
Instructions -
Take the Yellow card base and make a background by stamping all of the stamps in the set with Split Pea ink. Edge the card base with Bark ink and set aside.
Run the Rust card stock through the embossing folder and set aside.
Take the White card stock and stamp the following:
Stamp the Dandelion in Split Pea ink...
...and then again in Topaz ink.
Stamp the Round Flurry in Gold ink.
Stamp the Sideways Flurry in Bark ink.
Stamp the Leaves in Green Tea ink.
Then edge the paper with the Gold Paint Pen.
Glue the stamped panel to the Rust paper you embossed earlier. Glue the resulting ensemble to the card base.
Tie the ribbons around the card base.
Medallions-
Stamp two Dandelions in Paprika ink and cut out.
Stamp some leaves in Green Tea ink and Evergreen ink and cut out.
Glue/tape (with foam tape) the cut-outs together and then glue them to Dark Brown paper and trim away the excess. Glue the resulting ensemble to the card base.
Then stamp the "I love you" sentiment in Pinecone ink on a White scrap of paper. Punch out the sentiment using the square punch. Then stamp the Round Flurry in Split Pea ink to make a background. Edge the square with the Gold Paint Pen. Glue the square to a piece of Dark Brown card stock and then glue the sentiment to the card base among the flower cut-outs you made earlier.
That's it!
Of course we missed last week, with our little dog Hoopy's misfortune with the big dogs. Two weeks ago, we received many comments about mixing inks. It appears that for many of our readers although ink mixing offers the liberty of making an abundance of custom colors, they view it as too much trouble. In light of that consensus, we decided to offer some pre-mixed inks, which we have now made available.
So what do you think? Just enter your comment in the comment section below for a chance to win the Dandelion Flurry stamp set. Today's winner is Barbara B., who will be receiving the Creekside Garden stamp set from the blog we featured two weeks ago. Congratulations, Barbara!
Until next week, Happy Stamping from Susan and rest of the gang at Rubber Stamp Tapestry!
Until next week, Hoopy says, "Cheerio!"

First wanted to say I'm happy to hear Hoopy is doing so well. Feel better Hoopy.
I want the Dandelion Flurry stamp set!!! When I was a kid my dad would take us outside and we would blow wishes with the dandelions so we called them wish flowers. I never knew they were called dandelions for years. stamping sue

Lovely card!

Glad Hoopy is on the mend. Dandelions always hold a special place in a mother's heart because of the many she receives from her kids.
I would feel "artistic" mixing my own ink colors but sometimes the convenience of having it premixed is worth it--maybe in the really popular colors.

I didn't get my newsletter this week. Thought I would mention it in case there is a problem. Glad to hear Hoppy is on the mend. She may not like the collar but she does have a happier look in her eye! love the dandelions. They are a happy flower your card celebrates that! That purple behind the flower cutouts is just right. Thanks for another lovely card and instructions.

I'm happy to hear your furbaby Hoopy is doing better. I haven't tried mixing my own ink colors yet,pre-mixed inks are so convenient.

Speedy recovery to the queen! Love the new set - it has alot of energy! Smart move on the pre-mixed inks - more likely to use that way. Thanks for the nice card too - the simplicity is refreshing.

So glad that Hoopy is doing better. The dandelion stamp is terrific!

I am looking forward to trying the new fabric stamps and ink, so I can't say which I would prefer, readily mixed or custom. The card reminds me of a fall or indian summer day with the colors you used and I like the new dandelion set-- they are reminiscent of asters.

I like that you will be offering the mixed colors..........it takes the work out of it for us! Mixing the inks gives the look of watercolor which is very appealing to me.

About the dandelions....yes,...I like to make cards with them too!

Great tutorial! I'm going to have to get this set! :) Thanks for the update on and photo of Hoopy, too! :)

Glad you updated us on Hoopy - hope she continues to improve.
Another stamp set for my wish list. I keep buying but the wish list doesn't get shorter - all these great new ones.
I think my fear about mixing my own inks is reproducibility - If I run out half way through a project will I ever be able to match it. - if there was some way of measuring out consistent "pea" or "half pea" measures ? If I were to mix a "brilliant colour" by starting with one of your recipies and adding "a bit of this and a bit of that" - could I remember what I had done - neet to be very organised about documenting.

I love the colours used in the card. So redolent of August! Thanks for the continuing inspiration and very best wishes to Hoopy.

Prayers for Hoppy! Yes, I think it is great to offer pre-mix colors. Most of us are creative but not experts in mixing custom colors. Thanks for listening. Your card is beautiful.

Sorry my last comment spelled Hoopy's name with 2 P's. I should have proofed my comments.

So glad that Hoopy is doing better. I am sure he will be back to normal in no time. He looks like such a sweetie. Shame on those big mean bully dogs!!! I also LOVE this new Dandelion set. I remember having fun as a kid blowing all the seeds. Now as an adult I realize why our parents HATED it when we did that. Adults hate to have to deal with those pesty weeds in the yard. LOL Oh, those were the days. :D

I also have fond memories of dandelions; some from when I was a child and some from when my daughters were children. There is just something special about blowing dandelions and making wishes :)
Nice to hear that Hoopy is doing better.

Glad your cutie pie puppy in on the mend. What a terrible ordeal she has experienced. How lucky she is to have you as an owner! It's so obvious how much you care for her!
Love the new dandelion set. Didn't get your newsletter last week and was so disappointed. However, it was here today, and I like what you did with the set. Like your choice of colors, too.
Give Hoppy a hug from California!
