Garden Veranda for the holidays!

Today's post is using an older floral set that we normally use in summer colors.  Using deep burgundy and rich greens, we are making a festive holiday card!

RST's Garden Veranda peg stamp set
You are Loved block stamp
Small Shapes Positioning Template
Pop Dots
Green ribbons
Versacolor inks in Sage, Burgundy, Ash Rose, Green Tea, Peony
Dye Black Ink
White Card stock 7.25 x 6, folded in half
Burgundy Card stock 3 x 6
Extra white cardstock for die cut, embellishment and stamped sentiment

Stamp large flower in Burgundy, turn the stamp one half turn and stamp again (without re-inking) on top of the previous image for a lighter shade of color.

Stamp Smaller flower in Green tea.

Stamp Moneyplant in Ash Rose

Stamp Leaf in Sage

Stamp Tiny Flowers in Peony

Die cut out stamped area with scalloped oval cutter (I used Spellbinders)

Smudge edges of oval in Sage ink

Stamp You are Loved in Black Dye ink

Use Small Shapes Positioning Template to center sentiment and then smudge around edges in Sage

Stamp Tiny flowers around sentiment in Sage

Cut out with small scissors and then apply pop dot on back

Stamp cluster of flowers and leaves and one single small flower.  Cut out with small scissors and apply with pop dots to card.

Glue all together,add ribbon and assemble.

Wild Berry Vine Happy Holidays Card Tutorial

Rubber Stamp Tapestry's Wild Berry Vine peg stamp set is so versatile!  It stamps beautifully on paper, ceramic bisque and fabric!  Today we are using it to make a holiday card and wrapping paper.

Begin by smudging Versacolor Narcissus ink around the edges of white card stock.

Next, smudge Umber ink around the edges.

Stamp berries in Burgundy

Stamp Berries in Black 

Stamp greenery in Green Tea

Stamp sprig in Umber

Stamp sprig in Black

Center and glue onto black card stock.  Dot around edges with fine tipped gold pen.

Add Crystal Stickles to berries.

Stamp happy holidays in dye black ink.  Center with small shapes positioning template.  Smudge with Sage ink.

Stamp sprig in Sage around sentiment.

Cut out with small scissors, leaving a touch of white on edges.

Glue onto red card stock then cut out leaving a thin edge.

Stamp sprig in Evergreen and then stamp a few more in Black.

Assemble with ribbon, pop dots and embellishments of your choice.

Also, while I was working this set it made me think about botanical wrapping paper for the holidays.  So, here is what it looks like on a plain paper roll (Melissa and Doug's) which is very inexpensive.  I got mine on Amazon and used my Prime account to get free shipping so it only cost under $7.00 for a 75 foot roll of paper.  Now I can decorate paper as needed for any occasion :)

Back to the paper.  In the photo below, you can see that I used the same colors that I used for the card.

Now you can see the detail of the wrapped package.

Nuthatch and Floral Gathering card for the holidays

With the holidays fast approaching I have been thinking about new holiday cards with a nature theme.  A nuthatch, earthy colors and a touch of burgundy are nicely combined to make that perfect card.

Using the concentric circle template, smudge sage ink on the outer edge and umber ink on the inner.

 

Stamp the large flower cluster in Burgundy.

Stamp the small flower cluster in Ash Rose

 

Stamp the large fern in Bamboo

Stamp the small fern in Green Tea

Stamp the starflowers in Bamboo

Stamp the sprig in Pinecone

Dot around the edge of the outer circle with a fine tipped black pen

Smudge the edges with Khaki

Stamp the Nuthatch in Black and color in with red

Using the small shapes template, center the long heart over the nuthatch and color around the edges

with a small brush in Sage

 

Stamp the sprig around the edges of the heart in Sage

Cut out the heart in an irregular wave with small scissors

Back with red card stock and cut out again to show a thin red border

Add a green card jacket, ribbon, pop dots for lift and Merry Christmas or the sentiment of your choice.
